Can I hunt for Job on a Dependent Visa.

Hi ,

I am on a workPermit to UK valid for 2 Years,My Wife will be joining me on a Dependent Visa.Could anyone please let me know the following:

1) can she work in UK on a Dependent Visa
2) Can she attend interviews.
3)What are the Job prospects in London for 3+ Yrs of Exp on Mainframe technology.
4) Pls suggest any Job portals or Consultants in London for the same.

Of course she can. Do you think Home Office has got hidden cameras spying on your dependent every minute of the day. There is no harm nor is it illegal to attend interviews.

You need to have skills not readily available among some stupid europeans who can barely speak English.

She can attend interviews and Work as well, as your dependent no problems.

Are you sure that she can work in UK as I have seen on the website that only those people whose parents are a British citizen can work in UK on a Dependent Visa.I am from India.

Hi All!!

Thank u very much for your help.....Now the situation is that my current employer is offering a job to my wife...on dependent visa.what are the pros & cons working on a dependent Visa as compared to work Permit...

Will there b any Tax implication?

If I leave the job and go back to my home country,will she be able to work over there...
1) If I resign from the company of which i have the work permit
2) If I remain in the same company and work permit is still valid.
