Passport for Schengen

Hi,

When you apply for a Schengen, how long do they keep your passport for? Do they take a photocopy and then return you the passport? thanks

The actual visa processing time may vary depending on the consulate & how busy they are. You should check with consulate/VFS that you plan to apply at, but generally you should get your passport back within 15 days. As the visa vignette/sticker needs to be affixed in your passport, it will only be returned once they have made a decision on your application.
