Lost passport with visa in it - advice needed!

Hi all,

I'm hoping you can help me. I've recently lost my passport which had my student visa (tier 4) in it (vignette).

I have already applied for a new passport, just waiting for it to come. I am going to book an appointment at a premium service centre because I have a trip booked pretty soon. Do you know if I need to have the new passport already when I go to the appointment?

Also, do you know if it's possible to have the BRP card delivered to someone else and if that person can sign for it on my behalf?
