Renew Dependent Visa 3 months earlier

Hi All

I am a British citizen and my wife is on an initial tenure of 2 1/2 years Dependent visa which is due for a renewal for another 2 1/2 years in Sep this year.

We are expecting a baby in August this year. Can I check if she can go for a visa renewal 3 months prior to current expiry which is in June this year?

No, she can only renew 28 days prior to expiry.

You are encouraged to apply 28 days before the expiry date, but you can choose to apply earlier than this. What you'll have to bear in mind is when you come to settle, that you've completed the necessary 5 year period (but for 28 days). If you arrived in the UK within 28 days of receiving initial leave to enter, you should be ok extending 3 months before current leave expires. This is to avoid having to extend another time (twice instead of once).
