The day UKVI receives your application.m3m3m wrote:even though Royal mail delivers the home office with your application on a certain date, your application details are not entered into home office's database that very same day.
it can take anything from 2 days to a week in order to enter your application details into their computers.
(This information was provided to me by home office customer care centre )
Now the question is which day to be considered as the application received day?
The day when royal mail delivered application or
The day when they fed our application in their database and generated a reference number for our application ???
I received mixed replies on this question. Even from the home office.badratio wrote:The day UKVI receives your application.m3m3m wrote:even though Royal mail delivers the home office with your application on a certain date, your application details are not entered into home office's database that very same day.

they are saying from the day we feed your application in our system and generate your reference number, everything starts from that date.
Physically being present in UK on the beginning of residency start period can get affected based upon what actually is our application date by UKVI.
Appreciate answers with more certainty .

Congratulations! I am just wondering where were your letter in the post took 10 days to arrivedorox wrote:Hi everybody, Imagine my joy after getting home from work today to find not just one but two brown envelopes with my name waiting for me. The first one was the Home Office citizenship approval letter, and the other was a letter from the council informing me of the next available citizenship ceremony.
This is my updated timeline.

Current nationality: Nigerian
Method of application: NCS Manchester
Date of application: 10-03-2015
Payment method: Debit card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 11-03-2015
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 16-03-2015
Date of acknowledgment: 17-03-2015
Date approval received: 08-04-2015 (dated 26-03-2015)
Date of ceremony: 15-04-2015
I also thought it was kind of unusual for a letter to take so long to be delivered. Perhaps the letters are mailed in batches with mine being the start of a new batch of letters waiting to be posted.wmazhar wrote:Congratulations!
