Graduate Trainee or Skill Transfer?

Hi Everyone,

I'm a fresh graduate, going to start a new job which require me to go UK immediately for a year. After a year, i have to go back to my home country.

Currently, i'm sure that i'm a Tier 2 (ICT). But i'm not sure whether i'm under graduate trainee or skill transfer.

If i'm under graduate trainee, i have to work at least 3 months first (in the company at my home country), in order to stay UK for 12month. (company intend to send me straightaway, staying 3 months in the company is not possible)

If i'm under skill transfer, i can go UK straight away but i'm only able to stay there for 6 months.

Is it possible to extend the skill transfer visa for another 6 months when i'm in UK?

I really need expertise help here.

Thats bad. Maybe i have to come back to my home country to do the visa again after 6 month.

1) If i work with the UK company for 3 months and i'm holding a Tier 2 Skill transfer visa, is it possible to apply for Tier 2 Graduate Trainee visa while i'm in UK?

2) If i go back to my home country, is there a cooling off period before i can apply for another Tier 2 skill transfer or Tier 2 Graduate Trainee visa?

no - see immigration rule 245GD(d)

not if the period of engagement stated in the CoS for your skills transfer visa was three months or less, otherwise 12 months - see immigration rule 245GB(d),
