Thanks bro. Yes indeed it took a few days to arrive. Not sure if they were hand delivering it by walking all the way from HO to my residence lol as it was approved on 31/03

I do have a quick question for you. I called council soon after I received my approval this morning(more like 12 PM) to try and book a ceremony date. But they said that they have not had any correspondence from HO confirming my approval and asked me to call them back on Monday.

What does that mean? do they get letter AFTER we the applicants get informed?

How did you go about the ceremony yourself?

Yes, it will take 1 or 2 days before they get your approval document, Call them on Monday and they will give you the available ceremony date, After the phone call letter of invitation will be arrive in the 2,3 days

I called them on 7th and received invitation letter today 10th.

I am going just my self but I told them about two guests as well, In case

apocolypto, In your approval letter there is the number to your local council to call for your ceremony right. I did call that number and was asked for the home office reference number on the approval letter. They book me for the ceremony on the 16th. My local council don't send letter. So call and see if they have your home office ref number on file.

even though Royal mail delivers the home office with your application on a certain date, your application details are not entered into home office's database that very same day.

it can take anything from 2 days to a week in order to enter your application details into their computers.
(This information was provided to me by home office customer care centre )

Now the question is which day to be considered as the application received day?
The day when royal mail delivered application or
The day when they fed our application in their database and generated a reference number for our application ???

for your reference, i once had an appointment in liverpool contact centre, that day was last day of my visa but visa officer refused to take my application and asked me to post the application, i asked him that this will make me overstayer as home office will receive my application next day in case i do special delivery, he said that the date you send the application form to the home office will be considered your application date.

ahh...ok, thats why they say that you have to be in country 3/5 years ago on the day home office receive your application.

Update :: its 5th week starts from today since i applied but still no reply from home office
