Switch Tier2-ICT-LT to Tier2-Gen-dep from home country ?

Post by maxsec » Sat Apr 18, 2015 9:28 am

Hello,

It will be great help if anyone can answer my questions .

I am currently on a tier 2 ICT long-term which was converted from ICT short-term . My visa is still valid till 2017 and can be extended till 2019
My wife is currently working on a Tier 2 ICT depended visa and will be going back next month to home country to apply for a Tier-2 General.

My question are :
1 : can I accompany her and also apply as tier-2 general dependent from the home contrary or do I have to stay in UK and have to apply from inside UK after she gets her tier 2 general ?
2: Will there be any cooling off if I apply with her ?
3: do I have to inform my current employer before applying or can update them once I get the new visa ?

Regards
MAX

Either is fine. If you apply as dependent from home country, there is a risk that if the processing takes longer than expected, your passport will be stuck at the embassy and you will not be able to travel back to UK.

No.

Depends on your organisation's policy. Some companies has a policy to restrict switching of visa status. Check the policy.
