Switching Employer in Tier 2 (General) under new rules

Post by ArindamD » Thu Apr 16, 2015 2:43 pm

Switching Employer in Tier 2 (General) under rules effective from 6th April, 2015

Hello everyone, I have done some extensive search but haven't managed to figure out how to proceed. I'm currently on Tier 2 General, but I'm thinking to switch to a new company who are able to sponsor. What are my required steps?

Thanks in advance.

Get offer from new company.
agree on start date (suggest keep it 3 months in future)
they will need to carry out rlmt
Ask them to issue cos
apply for visa
new visa granted
resign from current job
serve your notice ( you will be allowed to work till start date of new visa which will be agreed start date with new employer)
join new company

Thanks iworker for your response. They have already conducted the rlmt. I'm currently on SOC: 2132 IT, software professionals which is not present any more. What shall I do?

It is the responsibility of employer to chose the SOC code.
It does not matter what code u are on currently, the new code must be the most suitable for your job description and accordingly with the right salary.
Make sure the SOC chosen is a NVQ level 6 code.

Thanks for your response, it all make sense. One more question though, how do I know if a SOC chosen is a NVQ Level 6 code?
