2 Years or 6 Months Visa, Advice Required!

Post by therock » Thu Apr 30, 2015 1:05 pm

Hi, My mother came to the UK on 6 months family visit visa back in 2009. Then, last year her 2 years visa was rejected because of ties to home country etc. Now, I am applying for her again, shall I apply for 6 months visa or 2 years?

Thanks!!

Before commenting on the visa validity period, has she addressed the reasons that led to her previous application refusal? I.e. Ties to her home country etc... which you have highlighted? It is imperative that she does this to avoid a further refusal.

In terms of the visa validity period, unless she has a proven frequent travel history to the UK, I would not recommend applying for a longer length visa. 6 months would be the best option if that were the case.
