Long story short: Latvian studying in UK since September 2010,went on a placement in July 2012 worked for a full year till July 2013 and been working there part-time through my final year of study. I know that I can only apply for a PR card in September 2015 but I want to avoid any `surprises` and I was hoping you guys could help.
Question one, I am aware of the CSI requirement for students, I had a valid EHIC in my first two years of study from Latvia, but I have received legal advice stating that EHIC is only valid as proof of CSI for temporary stay, is that true? Basically, I have been told that my first two years of study won`t qualify under the treaty rights as I have only had EHIC instead of a private insurance plan.
Question two, as I have been officially working to some capacity since July 2012 and my EHIC expired in September 2013, it would be easier to apply for the first two years as a student and for the next two as an employee, right?
Question three, after graduating in June 2014 and terminating my employment in the company I worked for previously, I became a self-employed person and started trading online. I registered with HMRC but I haven`t paid any tax or NI yet. Any experience on what are the documents/forms of proving self-employment in EEA PR applications?
In theory, I could also qualify as a self-sufficient person as I lived with my mother and she had a job, in theory, generating income that also supported me financially. Which would be easier and less hassle?
Many thanks for your advice in advance!
