OCI and related questions

1) Is there any time limit by Indian Embassy, to apply for OCI after naturalisation?

2) Applying for an OCI + cancelling passport can it be done together?

3) Do we have to visit in person for OCI application or cancelling passport?

4) Before cancelling Indian passport, are we allowed to use the new passport to visit Europe.

1) You can apply for oci any time after naturalisation, but you will need original and copy of British passport and naturalisation certificate. So I suggest you get your British passport first.

2) Also you need to cancel your Indian passport first and then apply for oci. Both are separate processes. cannot be done together.

3) I went in person for both.not sure about postal applications. Check online on their website.

4) you can use your British passport to visit Europe. It doesn't matter if your Indian passport is cancelled or not. Remember Britain allows dual nationality, Its India that doesn't allow dual nationality. Hope that helps.
