Long term work permit spouse visa

Post by wulfie » Mon May 04, 2015 6:09 pm

Hi All,

I am been asked for Dublin on long term work permit but from whatever I have read on net I can find that general employment work permit holder can't take their spouse with them to Ireland. I am an IT professional and would be going for same purpose, so is it correct that I won't be able to take my wife with me and if no then only after 12 months I can bring her to Ireland. Please help me out as my decision depends on this to take ahead this offer.

Regard

As an IT professional, I think you would be entitled to apply for a Critical Skills employment permit (formerly known as Green Card permit). This would enable your wife to immediately, as soon as you're granted the employment permit, apply for a Join Family visa. (Although it's a good 3 month wait, at least, before her visa would be approved.)
