Can I apply for British Citizenship?

Post by topher » Sun May 17, 2015 3:42 am

Hello!
So here are my details

Grandmother was born in UK and held a British passport
Mother was born in UK 1960 has never held a British passport and moved to USA when she was a child
Father is completely American

Me: born in USA (1990) holds USA passport
Am I able to get British citizenship? Can I go to the embassy in Los Angles to speak with someone about this?

Thank you so much!

If your mother's father was not an American diplomat, then she is automatically British otherwise than by descent. Therefore, you are automatically British by descent. You may apply for a British passport directly.
