Stay options in the UK from Tier 2 ICT Visa

Hi,

I am currently on a tier 2 ICT visa ( issued to me in Jul 2014), my wife on T2ICT Dep.

Could you please clarify if following steps are valid from visa rules point of view?

1. My wife will apply for academic course, get T4
2. I change to T4 Dep
3. As soon as I get T4 Dep, I change to T2G
4. My wife change to T2G Dep

You can not immediately switch to Tier 2 General after switching to Tier 4 Dependent. You have to wait for 1 year cooling off.

1. Can I be in UK during this 12 month period?
2. Can I work being T4Dep?

1. Yes You can stay in UK on Tier 4 Dep visa while cooling off of 12 months.

2. You can work as Tier 4 Dep as long as Tier 4 main applicant has opted for a Masters level course with duration of 12 months or more from a university recognised by UKVI(in short they have permission to give Tier 4 visas from UKVI).
