Non-EEA Fasted Route to nationalise

Post by Cooluser » Wed May 20, 2015 2:15 pm

Can anyone please advise me? I have read through most of the post on here and I find them very helpful and educative. However I still your advice. I will be as brief as possible.

I am a NON- EEA nation and got married to an EEA national in 2011. After the marriage I was issued with a 5yrs Resident Card (RC). We recently got divorced, after 3years. My RC expires in 2017, also I’m self-employed. Now my questions are;
1) What’s the easiest path for me to naturalise to become a British citizen? How many more years? Please guide me on my next application.
2) If my next application to retain my stay here is PR, do I need to wait until 2017 when my RC expires to apply for PR? Can I apply for PR now?
3) To meet up with the criteria for my next application, as a self-employee does it matter if I have any gap in work during the 5yrs period on RC.
NB: I read this site https://www.gov.uk/becoming-a-british-citizen but it speaks of EEA national but not Non-EEA national.

There is no easiest way to be British citizen if you dont fulfil the requirements of BC.
If you are divorced recently , then you need to apply for ROR( Retain Right of Residency) first.
And you will be issued another RC for 5 years if your application is successful.
but you can apply for PR after completing 5 years being a member of EEA national period staring from date of your marriage.
And if you get PR and after 1 years exactly you can apply for BC.
This is the easiest way i can think of.
