Advice needed for Naturalization Application

Post by muzakhaa » Wed May 20, 2015 1:05 pm

Hi All,
I need advice on my British Citizen ship application which is due in June 2015. Since this new irritating requirment of registering for a BRP for Naturalization application I am now thinking should I proceed with my application ( Elgibility Commencing from 20th of June). I am travelling to my country for a month (flying away on 21st July 2015 and coming back on 19th of August 2015). I am a bit concern that even if I made it to NCS on 21st of June then its not guarenteed that I will recieve the letter to register my BRP before 21st of July.

As annoyingly the dead line given on the BRP letter is 15 days then I will surely miss that and my application will be rejected. Another thing I was considering to apply just before I go on my holidays e.g. on 18th of July as I have noticed applicants are recieveing letters in 4 weeks time ( average) , however the only risk I will have in this case what if the letter is send in a week or Two I am confused :?

Finally I can take a deep breath and simply apply when I come back to UK :)

Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Application type : Tier 2 5years + 1 Year ILR ( 1 year will complete on 20th of June 2015).

I can understand the eagerness in getting naturalisation as early as possible. Given it will be the summer holiday period when you propose to apply on June 21, theres a chance there will be less caseworkers around, therefore potentially lengthening the time taken to assess your application.

And with the added requirement of registering BRP within 2 weeks after receiving the letter, I would if I were you, apply after your return, providing you do not have to travel again for some time. The risk is just not worth it for the sake of getting the naturalisation certificate 1-2 months earlier.

Good luck!

Many thanks for your valueable advise and yes I will wait patiently and will apply when I come back.

Also I agree with your point on caseworkers on holidays in June but you missed one thing the remianing will be covering the people in the passport office for passport application during summer vacation. As you might remember what happened last year :D
