Codes and minimum appropriate salary rates

Post by SYED.ZAIDI » Sun May 31, 2015 1:46 pm

Dear members

My tier2 general visa (initially granted in june 2012) will be expiring on 26th june 2015. my job type was 3537 Financial and accounting technicians and i was earning gbp 26000 yearly based on 37.5 weekly hours. currently i'm on the same salary, on same job type with the same employer. now i need to apply for extension in this week. i have just checked SOC codes applicable from 6th april 2015 and for SOC code 3537 the minimum yearly salary is now gbp 28800 for 39 weekly hours.

So my question is as i'm currently earning gbp 26000 (same as in 2012) - lower then new minimum salary, does it affect my extension application? what should i or my employer need to do before make an application? please advise asap.

Hi Zaidi,

Your salary should be (28,800/39*37.5 = 27,692.31) for extension application. Your employer will need to raise your salary and will have to mention increased salary in the COS that will be assigned to you.

Thanks,
Hassan
