if I get £18600 pa salary...

Post by Member99 » Sun May 31, 2015 3:57 pm

Hi member,
I need to ask you very important question, as I'm very confused about this matter. I have Permanent-Residency of UK, and I want to sponsor my wife and a child (few months old child) to UK, on settlement-visa. Then I have to show £24,000 PA salary for wife and one child, or £18600 PA for only wife. For minimum six month with same company or for minimum 12 months if i'm working with different companies.

My Scenario : I'm working with same company for last 9 months, getting £27000 pa. I have to sponsor my wife and and a child (few months old child) to UK, on settlement-visa.

Question ) Do I have to show some specific amount of saving in my Bank account as well? if Yes, then how much?

Please tell me. I'm really very upset about this saving issue now. And need you help guys.

awaiting for your answers......

As long as you can show minimum earnings of £24,000 per annum (to sponsor your wife and child), you don't have to show savings.
In addition to the 2 visa fees, your wife and child will also have to pay the new NHS surcharge of £600 x 2 = £1200 before submitting the application.
Ensure you have adequate accommodation available and that your wife meets the pre-entry language condition of the A1 level English test.

But I read something strange on the webink below

http://www.depreyconsulting.com/uk-visa ... age-visas/

" Cash savings – only savings above £16,000 are considered as available to offset the minimum income; if no income, savings of £62,500 held in the sponsor and/or applicant’s name for 6 months would be required (this is £18,600 x 2.5 years, plus the first £16,000 which is not counted) "

£18600x2.5 years = £46500

Then why they need extra £16000

can you explain me please, if you understand this thing?

There are 2 ways to meet the financial requirement, either by income or savings (or a combination of both to offset the low income).

If you are relying on income alone, then you do not need to show any savings. For your spouse and one child, you would need to show earnings of at least £22,400.

If you earn lower than this, then savings can be used to offset the lower income for which the first £16,00 doesn't count.

So if I have the income of 22400 for wife and one child, with zero saving (just for an example). Will it be alright ?
