Return Ticket for Visitor Visa? Fiance Visa Granted!

Post by bbwoy » Mon Jun 01, 2015 6:28 pm

Hi,

My fiancee has an Indian passport, she has an existing Visitor Visa that is valid for another 6 weeks that she has used in the past to enter the UK.

She was granted a Fiancee Visa a few days ago and has a ticket booked for tomorrow to return to the UK. However she has just noticed that the Fiance Visa is valid from next week on-wards. This means she will have to travel on her Visitor Visa tomorrow, but she doesn't have a return ticket booked at the moment, because we have planned to get married in a few months time.

My question: Can my fiance travel to the UK on her Visitor Visa without a return ticket? Keeping in mind that her Fiance Visa has been granted and the Visitor and Fiance Visa validity overlap by a few weeks.

I would really appreciate a quick response if possible, as she is travelling tomorrow.

Many Thanks,

bbwoy

It's risky and she may be refused entry as she's not entering as a genuine visitor. The fiance visa application will be held on the UKVI system and with flag up with Border Control.

Thanks for your prompt response Casa.

We didn't risk it. She has rescheduled her flight.

Don't forget to buy her health insurance.

https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigrati ... n/overview

"You don’t have to pay the healthcare surcharge if you’re applying from outside the UK for a visitor visa or any visa that will only last for 6 months or less.

You don’t need to use healthcare surcharge service or get an IHS reference number for your visa application. Instead, you’ll have to pay for any healthcare you get through the NHS at the point you use it."
