Is Letter of employment format okay for Category A salaried

Post by Mr Kirk » Fri Jun 05, 2015 2:52 pm

Hi Guys,

I am applying for my wife Visa and I am a British citizen,

I wanted to check if the following letter of employment format is okay for Category A salaried employment in UK. I had the letter signed by the company HR director but my concern is that their name and contact details is not in the letter but their details are present in my sponsorship letter and letter to prove that all payslips are authentic which they signed with the same signature as the letter of employment. Will this be okay or do I need to get their name in the letter as well? Is this an acceptable format? Your input will be much appreciated.

Is it printed on the letter head. If yes.. than i think it is more than enough.

also provide your current P60 if you can. You know all these informations can be cross checked. The most important is that your earning should be verified from HMRC.

Thank you ZR for your reply.

Yes the letter is printed on company letter head.

I am providing the following

1. Letter of employment original signature but it does not have the name of the HR director signing.
2. 11 months payslips
3. 11 month corresponding bank statements
4. P60
5. Contract
6. Letter of proof of payslips signed by HR director and with their details and they are the same person signing letter of employment

I have seen a friend of mine application getting rejected because the letter of employment had electronic signature instead of an original signature. So I became concerned that it does not seem they do any kind of checks and the ECO makes the decision based on the papers in front of them and they do not do any further checks so if he sees that the letter of employment without the person name who signed the letter then it might cause an issue and they will not do any cross checking. I think I am just concerned that it is one person making the decision and there is no second checks or anything like that.

Do they verify based on the papers or do they also contact HMRC? It does not seem they contacted HMRC in my friend case. In my friend case he also had an issue with his wife not passing an IELTS test so it could be that they have not experienced evidential flexibility because he had more than one reason for rejection.

Kind Regards
