"Real" Operational Service Level

Post by bird2004 » Sat Nov 27, 2004 1:03 pm

I create this new topic because I consider a big issue that the receiving date they are dealing with shown on HSMP site doesn't fit the facts people on this forum are giving.

For example, on 24 November they updated the site showing they are processing applications received on 25 May, but cases between 18-20 May (187xx-189xx) haven't been yet solved at 24 November.

Please add here any news related to this issue you got from HSMP team by speaking directly with them on the phone or using e-mail. Thank you.

I agree with you, but i reckon that soe cases are complex enough that some case worker need time to make some verdict. Where as there fellow workers start picking up the case of next dates.

From HSMP team

Post by bird2004 » Mon Nov 29, 2004 12:47 pm

I have just spoken with a member of HSMP team. My case (189xx) has not yet been allocated. She said it could be allocated in any moment.

well in the past we were speculating that they dated they posted on the web was about 2 weeks behind, now it looks like the opposite is true. they have now said they are on the 26th yet pple from around the 20th are still waiting. it is really puzzling

It is real sad news for us, was there anyone calculated how many cases they average allocate everyday? Which can be worked out based on the reference number and the timeline from the first day HSMP was launched. We also should calculate the average time they spend on individual case (I mean the final decision). I guess the way they doing things is they have made the decision long time ago before the actual due day. And the last moment is only used to review and type the decision letter. It will be stupid if they make the decision at the last moment even they have proved the evidences which been provided by us.

However, the confuse thing is why they spend so long time to type that bloody letter which even isn’t print on a water mark or colour paper. How do you think everyone, tell me more if you have discussed this issue before, thanks!

The problem is that the HO has underestimated the demand for HSMP scheme. If the HO were a business it would immediately allocate additional resources (such as using temps, outsourcing etc) to deal with this issue. However, the HO as part of the governmet lacks that flexibilty. This is exacerbated by the fact that the HO is too afraid now to introduce new changes and improvements as any such changes will be exploited by the Tories for political gain.

They admitted the date on their site is wrong

Post by bird2004 » Wed Dec 01, 2004 11:41 am

I have just spoken with a HSMP team member. He said the date on their site is incorrect as they are not processing applications received on 25th May. They will correct that date.

Actually, they haven't reach the 189xx range. My case is in that range and he assured me there is no problem with my case, but they haven't yet allocated it. He said I should expect a decision in one week.

So, this is the reality, rather bad than good but at least is something correct.

i think the sooner they put up the correct date the better cause now pple are worrying unnecessarily about their cases, thinking that there might a problem with their case since they have already passed the date. Yet the case is still to be allocated. Also they will now be responding to a lot of calls and emails from people who want to know about the decisions on their cases and are now spending so much time explaining that the date on the website is wrong
