Just to let everyone know HCI London will accept the normal passport photos (35 X 45, white back ground) for OCI application. I submitted the same and got it.

Good news and congrats, but have they "officially" made it applicable to everyone applying ?Or any public announcement from MHA re: this

Not being pedantic here, their website form is still showing 35x35 dimension Ref: http://www.mha.nic.in/oci-form-XIX.pdf

Being very familiar to "indian" way of administration of things in these kind of situation, better to take both forms of pictures just in case !

There is no official announcement. But if you trawl thru the FAQs on hcilondon site you can see a query asked regarding this and the answer from HCI. The answer say they prefer 35X35 but not a must. I took this for granted and sent 35 X45 and got it. So I am guessing they finally realised that it is difficult to get 35 X 35 with non-white backgound in UK
