Accommodation Letters

Hi,

I am submitting my wife's visa file as a dependant and I am no work permit in the UK.

One of the requirements is to show accommodation for both of us when she comes here.

In my case, I am not directly in contact with the landlord of the property. There is a middle guy who got the house on rent from the landlord and I am staying in the house on cash rent to the middlemen, which has nothing to do with the landlord. I have made a double bed room arrangement for my wife and myself.

My concern is what document can I present that prove that I have made necessary arrangements. In my case, I don't have a tenancy agreement or a utility bill. I have been advised of the two documents:

1. A sub-let agreement between the other guy and myself
2. A letter from the other guy describing the property and my arrangements for my wife

Is this enough or am I missing anything?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Answered in PM, but basically, if you are illegally sub-letting you need to find somewhere else to live. At the moment, you cannot prove that this arrangement is legal.

This isn't illegal sub-let, but yes I am not the direct person involved in lease.

Seems clear enough - you need to have a written tenancy agreement, either with the landlord, or more dodgily with the "middleman", who may very well not have permission to sublet in the first place. I'd look for somewhere more kosher. After all, at the moment you have no way of satisfying anyone that you are allowed to live there at all, let alone with your wife.

If you want to stay here then you need to show that the landlord gives permission for you both to live here. You can't get around that.
