Hi all
here is my query

My employer has applied for my WP last month and now I am waiting for the outcome. My Visa was running out so unfirtunately i left the country a week before it expired.
I have informed my employer that i am leaving the country because i dont want to be an overstyer.

I want to know if my existing WP will be fine as I am not in UK or it require a fresh application ???

One of the gurus should be along shortly. From what I recall, your employer may have to ask the home office to change the application from in-country to out-of-country. And they probably have to say which high commission abroad to send the wp to.

Absolutely - otherwise if the permit is issued as an in-country the employer will have to pay another GBP190 for a new permit, and you will have to wait at the end of the queue for the matter to be reconsidered.

So this need just that much of modification in the WP application. I was thinking might it need to start a complete new application and repeat the entire procdure and requirements.

I forgot to mention that HO still hasnt aware that i have left the country

It is possible and it is indeed what your employer should ask the home office to do asap. A simple explanation that you returned to your country before expiry of FLR should do.

If the in-country application is granted, it will be a lot more complicated. See Victoria's response.
