PBS Confusion ,please clarify

Post by Rajuk09 » Mon Jun 15, 2015 10:18 am

Hi All,

My wife did Bachelors in Travel and Tourism Management. This is not listed in the PBS list.
But can select her university and selecting course as "Other" / "Professional subject" she is getting 10 points, is this OK ? Or does she needs to get NARIC certificate ? We do not have much time now ...

Also Wife was part time employed for a charity Organisation and also she was part of a Limited Company on part time.Curently doing only Part time employment
So I beleive she should select "Employed" and should give details in Employment history with Ltd company details as well? She was Workpermit Dependant then T1 Dependant and ILR , So no work restrictions Hope her multiple jobs wont effect her application ?
Please clarify

Only and only select the option if her own course is not listed explicitly. Otherwise do not risk more than £1,000 please, personally I'd keep things simple and click here to look for other options a test centre nearer to you and book and take the test, if her course does not appear. Good luck.

If any of the work was voluntary & unpaid work for a charity (or similar) then I do not believe that is 'employment'.

If it was paid work then part-time work is still part of the employment history that should be submitted.

I would recommend that you get NARIC ELA (English level assessment) certificate for your spouse. Get a letter (stamped) from her college and have following information in letter. name, dob, year of passing, marks obtained (to tally with her marks sheet) and most important a line. "Degree was taught in English".

Also you need to only submit the Bachelor degree equivalent.

e.g if you did BCA and MBA, then if your BCA is equivalent to Bachelors in UK and was taught in english, then you are good. You donot need to compare highest qualification for NARIC assessment

Submit that letter along with copies of her degree certificate and see what NARIC says. Good luck !
