Hello,
I would like your opinions on this matter. i am a fresh grad international student and I currently hold IGS - I have one job offer (prospectively) and many interviews with top companies - however, I have issues with UK immigration - so can someone here advise me on the following differences between UK and Canada:
1. Is it the same that in Canada- nearly everyday, the news, media and etc all keep talking about "this problem of mass migration". Now the UK Govt introduced SEGS (Science and Engineering Graduates Scheme) and later changed it to IGS (International Graduates Scheme) - so why all the hot shout and screaming about immigration nearly everyday which I find most appalling (but I can understand some of their points of being a small island). This further manifests itself in the way the natives react to you as a strange "foreigner".
2. The continued media attention (adversely) on this issue is bringing in increasing societal divides (I am not talking theoretically but practically as ive had to put up with some of this stuff myself) and I dont want to live the rest of my life in a very divided society (i.e. english for english, african to african, asian to asian)==> is this issue of the same magnitude in Canada?
Your thoughts are most welcome.
