Working tax credits and UK naturalisation

Post by pistike » Sat Jun 20, 2015 9:33 pm

Hello All,

Just a quick question as I could not find anything related to my specific query.
My question would be that am I breaching my conditions to leave in the UK as EEA citizen (A8) if I have claimed Working Tax Credit for one year during my employments? And how this will affect my naturalization as UK citizen?

Thanks for your responses in advance

I can't find the link any more, but claiming working tax credits won't affect anything. I asked the Home Office about this before and they sent a link (https://www.gov.uk/government/collectio ... structions) which used to have information about this. I can't find the relevant section now but if you are working here you can claim working tax credit. If you are self-sufficient claiming benefits would make a difference. If you have always worked you will be fine!
