Timing of RMLT

Does anyone know what the date is for the RMLT - i.e., once the one month period has ended for the job to be advertising, how long does it typically take for approval?

There is no approval process. Once the RLMT has been completed details have to be given in the CoS. If the HO then have any questions they'll ask.

I thought that some COS were restricted, and therefore had to receive approval?

restricted CoS for people applying outside of country (UK)
Unrestricted CoS for people applying in country.

Once RLMT, i.e. job advertising is done for 28 days or more, the details needs to be mentioned in the CoS and you will be applying for the Tier 2(G) visa specifying the CoS number.

If your application is not critical (may be any previous visa history with any issue or any criminal issue etc.), HO will approve it within 2 to 3 weeks. There is no concept of approval of RLMT, when you apply for visa, but if they want they will do internal check at the time of application or after some time (may be months or years). Nobody knows how they do that. If after approval, they find any issue with RLMT or your employer not following rules properly, HO will revoke or suspend the license. Hope that answers your query.
