EEA PR - pregnancy

Post by morleyaxis » Wed Jun 24, 2015 6:24 pm

Hi can anyone answer this question?
If you are trying to get permanent residence for 5 years continuity but for one year you were pregnant and off work (left the compamy altogether), then will this break continuity? I am aware there is a rule saying you can be absent from the UK for up to a year for reasons of pregnancy (Reg 3 of EEA regs 2006?) but what if you are not absent but remain in the UK during this time. Is this still OK? I cannot see in principle why it should matter whether you are in or out of the UK during/around the pregnancy, but the rules only seem to specify absence from UK.
Thanks if anyone knows.
