I will be coming with my wife, so is it good enough to save money?

Sanjay,

Seeing the general pattern here, people normally get their visa first(generally HSMP) and then they travel to UK after arranging atleast a couple of face-to-face interviews via email or telephone from abroad.

I don't know about the success rates for your skills(Cisco) it also depends a lot on you as a person. Keeping a positive mind and going with the general market trend and good payscales offered as you see from jobsites- nothing stops you from taking the risk.
My advice is, please minimise the risk by planning for the worse case scenario too. Sometimes things don't easily fall as per the plan.

To start the search, there is no good or bad time - but they say Dec and Jan are quiet months.

Due to the high cost of living, it would be advisable to bring the family after you have found a job and settled.

Hope this helps, good luck.
