Enquiry of Tier2 CoS period

Post by Sunny2905 » Fri Jun 26, 2015 8:29 pm

Hi Guys,

I am waiting for Tier 2 extension (change of Employer). It has been 3 weeks after submission, and I have enrolled my biometric information two weeks ago.

I have two concerns below:

First, my CoS assigned gives me 1 more month longer than the period of the job advertisement. I wonder will this be a problem which prolongs the application time?

Second, the work end date in my CoS is 1 day later than my current passport expiry date, however, there is no need for me to renew my current passport now as it is still 2 year to get expired. I wonder if this will be a problem for my visa application?

Many thanks,

Sunny

Hi Moonlight55,

Do you know if UKVI need to confirm these information correctly through a relatively longer time? How long does it usually take to issue an application on June? My previous tier 2 extension under the same employer (same job) was fairly quick on winter.

Many thanks!

There's not guaranteed timeframe for any visa application. The reason for longer duration could vary from huge backlog to home office conducting some background checks. It could be anything. I guess you just need to wait for some more time.

Hi Moonlight,

Thanks for your reply.

My current work is a scientist at PhD level, while in my next job, assistant scientist, the PhD degree was in desirable criteria, the title was a little lower than my current one. However, my next job's SOC is in the same as my current one, i.e. the SOC in PhD level. The salary is in PhD level.

I wonder if it is okay to use a PhD level SOC for a assistant scientist post, where bachelor degree is essential and the PhD degree is only in desirable criteria?

What's the possibility that the UKVI would refuse the application due to over-qualified?

Many thanks!

I don't see this as an issue.
