UK Fiancee Visa

Post by lerougegorge » Sat Oct 20, 2007 12:39 am

I'm a UK citizen but I've lived in the US for over 10 years now. I'm getting married to an Indian citizen and would like to go back to the UK. In order for her to get a visa, do I need to be living in the UK already, or can I be planning to move? Do I need a definite job offer? I have substantial savings that I can offer in support of the application. Any other advice on making the application?

You can be planning to move. Start at http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk

If you have a green card rather than U.S. citizenship, you should be aware you will likely lose this pretty quickly once you are no longer living in the United States.

With the dollar so weak and British real estate prices so high, now is not a great time in financial terms to be moving back to Britain.
