Hiya
I have made an application under EEA4 as Non EEA family member going through divorce but resident for 5yrs.
The Application require I send in my wife / ex passport At the time of sending in the application (August 07) I could not submit the partners passport as she was overseas filming a docco so sent in certified copy of her passport + plane ticket and letter explaining I would send the original when she gets back,
She got back in September but told me she would need to fly out again in November to finish the docco and so would need the passport. As recalling passports once sent in is a 4 week process according to the HO website I have not sent in her passport as it will be a waste of time just having it called back, and now as of this month according to the HO website they are dealing with applications posted in June so there is still awhile before they get to August applications.
Am I doing my self / application for permanent residence any disservice by been able to only send in the partner’s passport at a much later date than intended? Is it wrong that I have not submitted her passport between Sept – Nov and have it sitting at the HO and having her recall it again? What happens when they do get to my application and they only have her certified passport?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks for your time for those who managed to read through it all ï

Save your self a lot time and trouble, make your application though the Nationality Checking Services (NCS)
They will make the necessary copy's of passports ect and certify them too, so you dont have to worry about sending the passport away for months on end.

The NCS is only for naturalisation applications, as far as I know.

The caseworker will probably ask for her passport to be sent directly to them.

But be aware that this page is a not correct/ convenient approximation of reality. The page usually shows which applications they should be dealing with. However, if you scan this forum, you will find ample of evidence that reality can be a lot slower. Therefore, do not worry you should be just fine.

Sorry, where is the source for the above comment?

I tend to agree with you!
