Hi Manci,
Would highly appreciate if you answer my below query.
I am on Tier 2 visa with my wife on Tier 2 dependent visa since September 2013. I wish to apply for dependent visa for my child born in UK in 2014. How much maintenance I need to show? Is it just £630 for three months or (630x2)+945 = 2205?
if just £630 needed to show for three months, then is it ok to send his mother bank statement instead of main applicant as her mother held this much amount for 90 consecutive days.
Will the letter from Employer certifying maintenance for my boy be sufficient as well for the maintenance if I am unable to held the maintenance account for 90 days? (Just an add to that my employer did not certify maintenance on COS when I applied for my visa).
Would be grateful, if you could provide policy guidance links in regards to this.
Regards,
Hassan

yes, letter from your sponsor certifying maintenance for him would be sufficient
(Just an add to that my employer did not certify maintenance on COS when I applied for my visa).

Hi Manci,
I know you have already answered my query but I am just maintaining £630 in my account to apply for my son's dependent visa. I have just come across with this on UKVI website.
"You must show that your dependants can be supported while they’re in the UK.
Each dependant must have £630 available to them whether they apply with you or separately. This is in addition to the £945 you must have to support yourself.
You must have proof you have the money, and that it’s been in your bank account or your dependant’s bank account for at least 90 days before you or they apply."
So, I just confused what is the actual amount I should maintain for 3 months?
Regards,
Hassan

Hi Manci,
I know you must be right but is there any extract from guidance etc to support this? That would make me completely relaxed.
Thanks,
Hassan

Thanks KPSP and Ravi for your responses,
My question is still the same that there is no where in guidance it says that they just need to show £630. On the Tier 2 dependant visa page it says
"Each dependant must have £630 available to them whether they apply with you or separately. This is in addition to the £945 you must have to support yourself."
So, the confusion is here. Where in the policy guidance it says that if Tier 2 main applicant and dependent are already in UK and if the dependent is applying on his own then they just need to show £630.
Please, help me in this regard guys. I need to apply for my uk born son's visa next month and I am only maintaining £630 in my account.

Hassan

Hassan,
Point 57 clearly says that dependent should maintain £630 and I don't think it will change if you applying within UK or outside UK.
"Family member of a Tier 2 Migrant
57. You must have £630 to support yourself."
The rule is if the main applicant is in UK for a period of less than 12 months, then we need to show maintenance funds of £945 for the main applicant along with £630 for the dependent (even though main applicant is not applying).
I have read this some where but now I'm unable to find that document.
Hope this helps...
Thanks,

HI KPSP,
We are nearly there.
"The rule is if the main applicant is in UK for a period of less than 12 months, then we need to show maintenance funds of £945 for the main applicant along with £630 for the dependent (even though main applicant is not applying)."
Where is this quoted in policy guidance?

Hassan

Sorry KPSP,
I did not read the last line of your post which says "I have read this some where but now I'm unable to find that document."
Can other gurus provide any reference for the below please?
"The rule is if the main applicant is in UK for a period of less than 12 months, then we need to show maintenance funds of £945 for the main applicant along with £630 for the dependent (even though main applicant is not applying)."

Hassan
