French nationality law

Post by nicksname » Tue Oct 23, 2007 9:02 am

Hi,
According to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_nat ... ralisation someone who is a citizen of a french speaking country is permitted to naturalise without having any period of residence. Has anyone here acquired French citizenship through this? Or does anyone know of anyone who has done so?

Or is this an old law that has not yet been removed?

Thanks

I think the key phrase to note is ''may be waived'' for francophones. I don't think that's going to be very easy under Sarkozy.
