Schengen visa for EEA family

I am considering to collate relevant information regarding applications for Schengen visas for two categories of applicants - (1) Holders of Residence Cards (RC) issued by UK and (2) Applicants for Residence Cards and in possession of what is known as Certificate of Application (CoA).

1. Fingerprinting.

Do family members of an EEA national require to be fingerprinted? If not, what are the legal references to be relied upon?

2. Attendance of the interview.

Do family members of an EEA national require to be interviewed beyond the processual requirements for seeking additional documents or evidence?

I will be thankful for assisting with these. We are currently in the second group (my parents have COAs) and want to travel to Europe with me and return back on A1 (if such thing applies to parents)?
