Family Members - Daughter over 18

Hi All,

I just need a second opinion and some advice. My mother and my two younger sisters are residing in the UK under Indefinite Leave to Remain. I want to find out if I have any chance to join my only family in the UK. If I do what under what visa category i fall into.

I am a young adult above 18 of age.

Your mother would need to be earning more than £18,600 per year to apply. You will need to demonstrate knowledge of English.

I stand corrected and I apologise for a very silly mistake.

The Eligibility page says:

You must also prove that:
you’re 18 or over, unless you’re applying as a child

I misinterpreted that to mean that this form was only meant for people over 18 and children under 18 needed to fill in another form. It sounds very silly and I think I need another cafetiere of coffee.

I apologise to the OP for getting her hopes high.

I agree that parts of the .gov website can be read in multiple ways! I think that part is meant to be if you are applying as a partner of someone... so you must be over 18 to join a spouse..? But 'children' over 18 are not eligible.

What about if I have solid reasons as to why it is vital for me to join my family members in the UK. Base on Human rights.

1. I have no family and home in my home country
2. My mother is 54 yrs old single mother struggling on her own to support the family, previously domestically abuse.
3. She has no next of kin in the UK

Is there no other alternative? Should I seek immigration advice from an adviser?

I don't think an advisor will be able to help you more than people on this forum. A lot of unscrupulous 'advisors' are out there filling people with false hope and just telling them what they want to hear in order to get money. I honestly don't see a route to the UK for you. Your mother and her other children are not even British. It could be argued that they could come to your home country... Human rights do not say that being a single mother gives someone extra rights.

Your mother does have next of kin in the UK - her other children. Previous domestic abuse of another person is not an excuse for you to be able to come to the UK...

I honestly think you are grasping at straws... You would have been allowed to come with her if you were under 18 and it could be argued that you should have done so.
