Advice on bringing family to UK

Post by ariesr » Wed Jul 15, 2015 11:59 am

Hi there,

My story so far is as follows.

I was due to visit my partner in Kenya as she was expecting our baby and to see about getting married.
Unfortunately, (but in a way a good thing) I started having strange health issues, taken to hospital and was diagnosed with lung cancer and blot clot issues.

So am undergoing treatment , and due to ongoing blood clot issues I cannot fly until next year even as I make a full recovery.

I understand I will have to get married first before a visa application is made, but is there anything else I should consider? I expect to make a full recovery from this , but officially things could turn sour and there is a case for needing care.

My partner has been to USA, Australia, sweden and London before , so has travelled. Currently looking after baby, so no job at present.

Kind Regards Rod

Are you still in employment? Do you have any savings?

Am still employed, but no savings. Only pensions picked up from previous jobs.

Have my own home and have been taxpayer for 25 years, working for most of it.

If you're earning a minimum of £18,600 or are receiving a qualifying disability allowance (as you say may later be the case), you could apply for a fiance visa and marry here in the UK.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
