Tier 2 Visa interview mandatory?

Hi All,

Wanted to seek info on how common are tier 2 visa interviews applying out of country and is there a criteria to pick an applicant for interview? Or Is this entirely random.

Any inputs/experiences are appreciated.

How does it matter? If you are a genuine applicant just go for the interview and tell them the facts..
