Partner visa. Breaking up

Hi, I'm currently on the unmarried partner visa, but things are not going well between us and we are breaking up, which means I have to move out of the place (owned by my partner). My partner is happy to support me with documents when my visa expires so that I could stay in the UK and get my second 2.5 yr visa. The question is however whether it's safe for me to rent another place under my name? Will the authorities be able to get this information and therefore decide that we no longer live together and hence there are no grounds for me to stay in the UK? Or I shouldn't worry about being 'exposed'? Alternatively I could rent a room in a shared place unofficially, although I'd much prefer to live at my own place and not to share.

This would break the terms of your visa and is breaking the law too I think.

How will you prove cohabitation for the extension? Fraudulent documents? It's a big risk IMO, don't do it.

Apply for a new visa that fits your situation. If you are no longer in a subsisting relationship your current visa is no longer appropriate.

Moving out and trying to maintain your visa status as an 'unmarried partner' constitutes visa fraud in my opinion.

Since you are no longer in relationship with the person who sponsored your visa, you should:

1. plan to leave the UK before the expiry of your current leave, or
2. apply for leave to remain in an immigration category that you qualify for, before your current leave expires.

Lying on application forms, fradulent documentation etc. etc. may lead to severe consequences in future immigration applications e.g. - ban from entering UK for 10 years.
