visit visa to widows

Post by satpra » Fri Jul 17, 2015 7:39 am

Hi,

I would like to apply for visit visa for my mother who is widow.

I am on tier 2 visa with my family and I would like to invite my mother for visit UK. She is widow and house wife earning pension every month, has post office savings, fixed deposit and rented her house. I have elder sister who is in India with her family.

What is the chances my mother's visa will get accepted/rejected. I heard that visa application of widows are straight way rejected as home office thinks that they might get selected in UK.

Please let me know your opinion.

Regards

Thanks for letting me know.

I am looking for answers to two of my questions.

1) whether I have to provide supporting documents in orginal e.g fixed deposits and other documents etc.
2) Do I have get documents prepared from auditors/notary to show the collective savings my mother has in her name.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You are right dear sir. I am also in the same boat as you are. My mother too is a widow and her visa got rejected. I applied several times and it got rejected. The visa officer said that mother is widow and all the cases they have seen are settled i n UK. We even tried to submit all original documents but in vain. Sorry to say this unfortunately bitter to know but this is the true scenario.

Your mother needs to demonstrate strong ties back home and demonstrate that the ties are strong enough to show that she will return at the end of her visa. As shivanna said, some people breaking the law in the past has made it much harder for the innocent people later.

Does she own property in her home country? Does she have any further family in her home country? Adding proof of that would help to get her to come on a visit visa.

Hi I applied for my mother's(widow) visa it got rejected.

Next time you apply for visa for the United Kingdom, please consider whether you would like to apply for a multiple entry visa that is
valid for one, two, five or ten years. If you are planning to travel frequently to UK you may be find that a longer validity multiple entry visa
saves you time and money. You would need to demonstrate that you have a frequent ongoing need to come to UK, that the reason for your need to come to UK is unlikely to change significantly
while the visa is valid and that you plan to leave the at the end of each visit. More details details are available on our website here : https://www.gov.uk/general-visit-visa. We should also remind you that visa fees are non-refundable.

They returned even the application form.

Do you understand any of these ? I do not understand where I made mistake. Thanks for your help. Does anyone have any clue.

Was this the first visit visa for your mother that you/she were applying for?

It sounds like you applied for a multiple entry multi-year visa. Multiple entry multi-year visas are only granted after a history (generally at least 2-3, more is recommended) of successful short-term (6 months) visit visas. Does your mother have such a history of multiple successful visit visas where she has returned home within the visit period?
