tier 2 general new hire restricted

Post by mamaBABAMAMA » Sat Jul 25, 2015 2:02 pm

hi
i am currently in UK with my family under tier 5 (visa issued on 20 sep 2013). my employer has now issued me a COS for tier 2 general new hire restricted for a period of 3 years (my job is also on a short occupancy list). i am interested in applying for IRL in future. my query is
1. will my tier 5 duration of 2 yrs will count for ILR
2. can i reapply for tier 2 (3 YEARS) after this tier 2 without cooling period (to live outside uk for 12 month) so i can apply for ILR

THANKS AND REGARDS

AIUI Tier 5 counts towards 10 year route to ILR but not 5.

1. No.
2. Yes, if your employer agrees to continue to sponsor you so that you can extend your stay or if you can find a new employer who can issue you a CoS before your initial 3 years on Tier 2 (G) run out.
