UK General visitor visa?

Post by nina26 » Tue Jul 28, 2015 1:50 pm

I am currently in the UK on a 6 month marriage visitor visa...is it possible to apply for a general visitor visa straight away as soon as I return back to the Philippines so I can join my partner in the UK again whilst waiting to apply for a spouse visa? Or is there a period that you have to wait before returning to the UK?

No, Rule of thumb is six months in every twelve, though in this case it's unlikely to be granted with a husband in the UK due the 'genuine visitor' test.

Even if it was granted you'd not be able to switch in-country, you can only apply for that from your home country.

Why didn't you apply for a fiance visa? This would have enabled you to apply for your FLR(M) spouse visa extension from within the UK after the wedding.
