Tenancy agreement

Post by devmanda1ia » Wed Oct 24, 2007 9:53 pm

Hi,

I am submitting my wifes depenand visa file.

I plan to get into a tenancy agreement along with my wife. I want to do an agreement with my landlord now. It can also serve as a proof of secured accommodation.

Can I still mention her name in the agreement as one of the tenants?

If yes, can I send the tenancy agreement back home and get her signature on it? Is it legal to get into an agreement with someone who has not yet arrived in the UK.

If no, how do I ensure her name is there on the contract.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dev

It would not be illegal but the landlord/agent might not agree.

In any case, not necessary. Why not you, and not you and your wife, to be party to the agreement, but try to ensure there is a specific clause permitting your wife to live in the place. That would be sufficient for the purpose.

Your "signature" on this Board ..... I have just edited it .... removing your name .... not a good idea to disclose such detail openly on the internet.

just ask him for a letter to say that he has no problem for ur MRs to live in . usually there is no issue anyway even if it is a double room

You may want to edit his username as well. It is almost exactly what his name is.

tenancy agreement

So if the landlord agrees, I can mention her name on the agreement. I would rather prefer to mention as it will ensure she has got clear and secure space with me. However, I am not sure if I can send document back home and get it signed back?
