New born baby and travel

We've had a baby born in June this year in UK.
My wife & I apply for ILR in Novemeber this year
We need to travel to Indian in Dec and hence will not have time to get baby passport while we are here

My questions as below
1) Can baby registration (MN1) be done while baby is not in UK?
2) Can baby travel to India just with Indian passport which doesnt have any UK visa? Will this create any issues?
3) Is it possible to apply for British passport from India once registration is over?

1. Baby will need to enrol biometrics in UK after MN1 submission, so your travel plans will have to take that into account.
2. Shouldn't be a problem.
3. It takes anywhere between 6-12 months for a British passport to be issued in India. And the baby will also need either an exit permit or an OCI to travel outside India on a British passport.

Can you clarify your reply on point 3, please
OCI is needed only when baby is to leave UK to India the next time right?
Not needed when baby wants to reenter UK from India

What does OCI have to do with UK? It is an Indian immigration document that allows entry to / exit from India at the "Indian immigration control". On a British passport, how will you cross Indian immigration control at an Indian airport without a "Indian immigration document"?

And, if you use the child's Indian passport to exit India, the immigration control may ask for a "UK visa". Whether the explanation that child also holds a British passport as well will work is unknown because most Indian immigration officers will tell you that the child cannot have an Indian passport if the child is a British national.
