Can Tier 2 ICT short term staff change to dependant?

Post by Tier2Enquiry » Thu Jul 30, 2015 9:58 am

Hi,

Currently my partner is on Tier 2 ICT short term staff visa which is ending in August 2015. I have got a job offer from a sponsor and he is ready to sponsor me for Tier 2 General visa.

Can my partner switch to Tier 2 General dependent? In that case, does he need to serve any cool off period?

Thanks

your partner can switch to your dependent without serving cool off period.

Thanks for the quick reply. That really helped. I have one more query.

So, we need to go back to India for applying visa but we can't travel back together as he needs to serve a one month notice period in his company after resignation.

Now after the BPR changes, if we make a visa application together, Is it possible to get VISA start date differently as he will be travelling to UK after 1.5 month and VISA get issued initially for 30 days and you need to collect your BPR after coming to UK?

Thanks

No. You both will get the same 1-month visa. If it expires before he travels, he need to apply again. If you are sure he will travel later, one option is to apply for dependent visa later (once you get yours).
