FLR(M) Extension - financial question

Post by mishfitt » Sat Aug 01, 2015 5:43 pm

Firstly apologies if this type of question is asked all the time, I've had a peruse of the other related questions people have asked but my circumstance is different so need a specific answer if possible.
I am going to croydon for my appointment for FLR(m) extension. I am a bit confused what I need to answer on the form in regards to financial requirement. I am in salaried employment but only earn 18k my husband is self employed and earns over the 18,600 threshold.

I am inferring from the form that we only need to complete the self-employed section and provide the relevant documentation for his accounts as It seems you dont combine salaried and self-employed earnings.

Just seems odd that I would not need to provide any documentation on my earnings, is this correct?

thanks in advance

You should be able to combine earnings if you wish. Bear in mind that for self-employed earnings the calculation is made on earnings after business expenses have been deducted. i.e the amount that tax in payable on.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

thanks, just on the form, after entering info on salaried earnings it asks if your salaried earnings are equal to or exceed the required 18,600, which is a tick in the no box for me. it then says i need to complete the section on cash savings, to combine this with salaried earnings. Though that isnt necessary given my husbands income is above and beyond so it is very confusing. thank you!
