Post by kranthi15 » Sat Oct 27, 2007 8:25 pm

hello all

i got HSMP approval letter.

and it is clearly written that i should apply for EC with in 6 months, but there is nothing about the timeperiod like we can see on normal workpermits otherthan hsmp.

An HSMP approval letter will not state how long it has been issued for; that can only be confirmed when you apply for entry clearance. It is normally issued for 2 years, so you can request for 2 years.

yes u can apply now and request them to make ur visa valid from your requested date. but in my case they didn't care about my request. they jut make it valid from the same day they issue it. so u can try it. but its always very good practise to enter within 28 day of ur visa valid date. it will help in long run

not from visa issue date but from the visa valid date. it may be like this, if they honour ur request and valid ur visa from ur requested date then there will be 3 dates. one is visa isse date one is visa valid from date and another is valid until date.

Hi, you can request for post date max of 3 months only, so I guess if you are leaving in March 2008, then you should apply in Start of January 2008. Hope this helps

I applied EC by end of september and request visa start by end of november. They approved EC on 28/9 and visa started on 12/10 which mean 2 weeks from approval date. You have to clearly mention your reason why need the post dated.
