Switching to FLR(M)/Partnership Visa

Post by wormsnail » Fri Aug 07, 2015 2:24 pm

Hi guys, I'm finishing up on a Tier 4 visa which I've been in the UK with for 5 years. I've been with my partner (UK Citizen/British born) for 4 years, and we're getting married soon. We want to apply for a partnership visa, however, he will only have been at his job for 6 months in December, and my visa expires in October. I want to know what my options are to address the 1.5 month gap we are facing. This is my approach so far:

1) I'm applying for jobs on Tier 2. Can I switch to FLRM from this?
2) I'm also looking into applying for Tier 5. I saw a thread with mixed messages on here about whether I can apply to FLRM from this, so I'm not sure what to think.
3) If I don't get Tier 2 or 5, will I just have to go home and then apply to rejoin my partner? Do I have other options?
4) Who can I go and talk to in person for advice?

Any help is much appreciated!
